Licensure and Ordination:

In the past years, professional psychiatry and psychology has usurped the role of counseling in our society. We do not take a stand against professional therapy, but rather we believe that any kind of psychotherapy that is administered without the Bible and the Holy Spirit is not addressing the real issues of God's creation. God is a Spirit, and we are created in his image. We are therefore spirit beings, living in a flesh and blood body, containing a heart or soul which is our mind and intellect, the emotional realm.

Our School and The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists have developed a special program to train and certify Christians who are serious about reclaiming the counseling ministry. Since God has provided lasting answers to life controlling problems, it is imperative that credibility on a professional level be restored to Christian Clinical Counseling. We believe all effective counseling should be Bibliocentric (Bible Centered).

Psychiatry describes man's view of his problems, but the truth about problems and their solutions comes from God through the Lord Jesus Christ as revealed in Scripture.

The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists recognizes and accredits our counseling programs.

The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists

The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists is a national certification board for those who practice Christian Counseling. The Academy is founded for and dedicated to the establishment and maintenance of a national board of standards for the training, examination and certification of those who would represent themselves as "Christian Clinical Therapists," with or without a state license.

The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists was formed to support those professional groups, individuals, churches, fellowships and denominations who desire to offer to the public a Christian based model of therapy. To establish the necessary academic criteria for the professional and educational standards necessary for training, examination and certification of a "Christian Clinical Therapist."

The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists is a Christian nonprofit, non-denominational board of licensed and non-licensed experienced men and women, dedicated to support and facilitate the highest standards of conduct and professionalism in the field of Christian Counseling and Therapy.

The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists bases its theological considerations upon proven Biblical principals found acceptable by the majority of the Christian community as the revealed truth, will and wisdom of God for man.

The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists does not advance, support or deny the doctrines or beliefs of any individual, church, denomination or Christian fellowship. Nor is it the intent of the Academy to impose upon any group, church, denomination or fellowship any doctrine, particular theology or system of beliefs for purposes of the selection of personnel. We come together choosing to trust in the sovereign working of God's will in each individual and trusting the scriptural promise:

"'I am' the God who heals you."

If you are interested in certification as a Christian Clinical Counselor, information can be requested from The American Academy of Clinical Family Therapists through our seminary office. Simply call or write asking for the Academy Certification Packet. Remember that Professional Certification is different than State Licensure. Our certificate is for those who are interested in doing Bible based, Christian counseling in the local church setting or a para-church type Christian Counseling setting, and want a Christian Program and Bible based professional Certification.
